Sierra Morris
Founder and Wildfire Mitigation
Specialist

Sierra Morris is a former wildland firefighter with a knack for sales and customer service.

Currently based in Colorado, she has evolved into an Entrepreneur and Wildfire Mitigation Specialist. Starting her firefighting career in Missoula, MT, Sierra was a USFS Wildland Firefighter for the Lolo Ranger District while earning a Bachelor of Science in Marketing. She later played a key role in launching AIG's Wildfire Protection Unit in Austin, TX, catering to high net worth clients. Her responsibilities included scheduling, property evaluations, and crafting reports on wildfire preparedness. Sierra also handled the maintenance of a Type 6 Engine, responded to wildfires in Texas, Oklahoma, and Idaho, and prepared structures for potential fires.

Shifting gears, Sierra entered the sales and marketing arena, working with renowned outdoor industry brands such as Backcountry.com, Burton Snowboards, Mizu, Locale Outdoor and more. She managed customer relations with critical accounts and drove sales across the Western United States.

Maintaining her interest in wildfires, Sierra returned to AIG's Wildfire Protection Unit in 2020 in Silverthorne, CO. As the Senior Wildfire Mitigation Specialist, she led a team, managed a Type 6 Engine, and conducted consultations for high net worth clients around the state. Deploying with Robert Schneider, the duo tackled wildfires in Colorado, California, and New Mexico, including notable incidents like Cameron Peak Fire, Caldor Fire, and Marshall Fire. Sierra earned her Certified Wildfire Mitigation Specialist certification through NFPA.

Recently venturing into real estate in Colorado as a Broker Associate and Agent, Sierra identifies the growing need for Wildfire Mitigation Specialists due to rising insurance costs. Her aim is to collaborate with agents, clients, and associations, evaluating properties for wildfire mitigation on a case-by-case basis to simplify the homeowners insurance process for Colorado mountain dwellers.

Outside work, Sierra is an enthusiastic snowboarder, mountain biker, and traveler.

Robert Schneider
Founder and Wildfire Mitigation Specialist

Robert Schneider blends his prior career of education with his love for wildland firefighting to manage risk as a Certified Wildfire Mitigation Specialist.  He spent five years teaching Outdoor Education in the Florida Keys and Santa Catalina Island, and three years in a formal classroom setting.  Obtaining a masters degree further helped his understanding of development, communication, and teaching to a higher standard.

As a USFS Wildland Firefighter on the Inyo National Forest, Robert served four years on a Type 3 Engine and two years on an Interagency Hotshot Crew.  He then served two years on a Type 6 Engine on the Helena-Lewis & Clark National Forest.  Dutifully he responded to initial attack fires, extended attack fires, and assisting other modules by substituting on helicopter fire crews.

During his time at the USFS, Robert learned to coordinate all efforts towards a common goal of saving people’s property and preserving the nation's natural resources.  He actively fought fire across the United States including California, Nevada, Utah, Montana, and Alaska.

Later in his career he partnered with Sierra Morris on a Type 6 Engine out of Silverthorne, CO working for AIG’s Wildfire Protection Unit.  Robert expanded his customer service skills by providing fire resiliency to client’s homes and properties through extensive wildfire mitigation inspections.  These interactions provided first hand knowledge of fire behavior, fire preparedness, evacuation planning, and reporting suggestions for improvement to structures and vegetation.

Robert is ever confident in his abilities and knowledge of wildland fire behavior and firefighting.  Having worked for the Federal Government and in private firefighting he has protected public, private and commercial land, and National Monuments.  His goal is to reduce insurance costs by providing Certified Wildfire Mitigation inspections to Brokers, Insurance Companies, and Local Officials.

Currently, he works for Rockridge Building Company in the custom residential home building sector, adding to his knowledge of structure composition and building techniques, and safety.  Robert hopes to align the due respect for fire with new home building standards.

Outside of work, Robert enjoys backcountry and resort skiing, camping with his family, and getting ‘lost’ in the woods with a good trail run.
